Welcome to Sensational suds of the South. We make wonderful handcrafted soaps, and since we are in South Carolina, many of our selections have a southern theme. We have Peach, Magnolia, Honeysuckle, Southern Breezes, plus many other popular fragrances. Our soaps are handmade with only the finest ingredients. Pure ingredients with names you can pronounce. Palm oil, coconut oil, & olive oil are used in all the soaps as the basic ingredients. Some have cocoa butter & shea butter added. Some are made with goat's milk for mildness and great lather. Whichever you choose you can't go wrong.
So what's the big deal you ask? What makes this soap better than the soap at the grocery store?
First and foremost, this soap is real soap. Most of what you buy in the grocery store is made from detergents. Detergents clean by stripping the oils out of your clothes, or off your dishes, or off you! You get clean but your skin is left very dry. With our soaps, whether you choose the soaps with high quality fragrance oils and FDA approved colors added, or the all natural soaps which are scented only with essential oils and natural colorants, your skin will feel clean, soft and healthy. We never add preservatives or harsh chemicals to our soaps, and they are as good for the environment as for your skin.
Our soaps are made by the cold process method. The oils(which are acids)are mixed with a sodium hydroxide(lye) solution(a strong base). A chemical reaction, called saponification occurs, and the end product is soap. It is then cut into bars and allowed to cure for at least three weeks. Our handmade soap contains glycerin(which will attract moisture to your skin), and extra oils that also help to moisturize, but no sodium hydroxide is left in the final bars.
